Terms of Use

Last updated: July 29, 2026

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the Chick Hal Hal mobile application and website (together, the “Services”). By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to these terms.

1. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 years old, or the higher minimum age required in your country, to use the Services. You are responsible for providing accurate account information, keeping access to your email account and device secure, and all activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. One person may not impersonate another or create accounts to evade restrictions.

2. Email, Apple ID, and iCloud

Account creation may use an email address, Sign in with Apple, or an iCloud account. Some features rely on Apple CloudKit or iCloud to authenticate you, synchronize data, and store app records. You must comply with Apple’s applicable terms and maintain a compatible device and iCloud access. We are not responsible for Apple service outages, storage limits, account restrictions, or changes outside our control.

3. Location-based features

If you grant permission, the app may use approximate or precise location to show nearby halal places and relevant content. Results may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate and must not be used for emergency, navigation, or safety-critical purposes. You can withdraw permission in device settings, but some features will no longer work. You are responsible for any location you choose to publish.

4. Reviews and user content

You retain ownership of reviews, ratings, photos, comments, profile information, and other content you submit (“User Content”). By posting User Content, you grant Chick Hal Hal a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt for formatting, display, distribute, and use that content solely to operate, promote, and improve the Services. This licence ends when the content is deleted, except for reasonable backup periods, content already shared by others, and records we must retain by law.

You must not submit content that:

  • is false, misleading, fraudulent, defamatory, threatening, hateful, obscene, or harassing;
  • violates privacy, intellectual property, or any other person’s rights;
  • contains personal or sensitive information without permission;
  • contains malware, undisclosed advertising, spam, or manipulated ratings;
  • violates applicable law or is unrelated to the relevant place or experience.

We may, but are not required to, review, refuse, restrict, or remove User Content and suspend accounts. Moderation does not mean that we endorse or verify any user submission. You may report inappropriate content through the app or by contacting us.

5. Acceptable use

You may use the Services for lawful, personal, and non-commercial purposes. You must not interfere with their operation, attempt unauthorized access, introduce malicious code, scrape content through automated means, reverse engineer restricted parts of the app, evade safety controls, or use the Services in a way that could harm others.

6. Recipes, listings, and informational content

Recipes, restaurant or business listings, reviews, halal information, cooking guidance, and other materials are provided for general informational purposes. They are not medical, nutritional, religious, certification, or professional advice. Listings, opening hours, menus, ingredients, ownership, and halal status can change. You remain responsible for checking directly with the relevant business or product maker and choosing options appropriate for your needs and beliefs. A listing in Chick Hal Hal is not an endorsement or certification.

7. Food safety and allergies

You are responsible for safe food handling, correct cooking temperatures, allergen checks, and dietary decisions. Chick Hal Hal is not responsible for reactions, illness, injury, or loss resulting from ingredients, substitutions, preparation methods, or reliance on content available through the Services.

8. Our intellectual property

Except for User Content, the app and website design, software, branding, text, illustrations, and original content belong to Chick Hal Hal or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the Services for personal purposes. You may save recipes for personal use, but may not republish, sell, copy the app, or commercially exploit our content without written permission.

9. Changing or deleting your account

You may change available profile details in the app. You may delete your account through Settings → Account → Delete Account or request deletion from the email address associated with your account by writing to us. Deletion is subject to identity verification and the retention periods in our Privacy Policy. Deleting the app from your device does not by itself delete your account. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms, creates risk, or is required to be restricted by law.

10. Third-party services and links

The Services may use or link to Apple services, CloudKit, iCloud, maps, restaurants, and other third-party services. We do not control and are not responsible for their availability, content, products, security, accuracy, or practices. Your use of them is subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

11. No warranties

The Services and all user submissions, location results, listings, and content are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all express and implied warranties, including warranties of accuracy, availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Chick Hal Hal and its contributors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Services, including reliance on user reviews, location results, listings, or third-party services. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Chick Hal Hal harmless from claims, damages, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of the Services, your User Content, or your violation of these terms or another person’s rights, to the extent permitted by law.

14. Changes, suspension, and termination

We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services. We may update these terms and will provide appropriate notice of material changes. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the revised terms. You may stop using the Services and delete your account at any time.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable where Chick Hal Hal operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Mandatory consumer protections in your place of residence remain unaffected.
