These Terms govern your use of the Chick Hal-Hal iOS application (“the App”). By using the App, you agree to these Terms.
1. Purpose of the App
The App helps users discover places that may offer halal food, view map information, save favorites locally on their device, access recipes, and share community information. The App is provided for general informational purposes.
2. Halal and restaurant information
Restaurant details, halal status, hours, facilities, ratings, and reviews may come from Apple Maps, restaurant operators, third parties, or the Chick Hal-Hal community. Information can be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect. Chick Hal-Hal does not guarantee halal certification, ingredient suitability, opening hours, availability, or the accuracy of any listing. You are responsible for confirming information directly with the restaurant or a trusted certification authority.
3. Accounts and Firebase Authentication
The App supports Firebase Email/Password and Sign in with Apple. Email/Password accounts, authentication credentials, and password-recovery emails are managed by Firebase Authentication, not by CloudKit or iCloud. When you use Sign in with Apple, Apple may provide an account identifier, your name, and a private relay email address according to your Apple privacy choices. You are responsible for information submitted through your account and for keeping access credentials secure. You must provide accurate information and must not impersonate another person. You can edit or permanently delete your account at About → Manage My Contributions → Account Settings → Delete Account. Deleting the App does not by itself delete your Firebase account. We may restrict or terminate accounts used for fraud, abuse, unlawful activity, or repeated violations of these Terms or the Community Guidelines.
4. Community contributions and public CloudKit
You may publish reviews, ratings, photos, and your display name. This content is stored in the public CloudKit database and is visible to other users. You retain ownership of your original content and grant Chick Hal-Hal a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, display, adapt for formatting, and distribute that content as needed to operate and promote the App.
Complaints, reports, and related details are submitted for moderation, safety, and abuse prevention. Although moderation records may be processed through CloudKit, they are not displayed to other users.
You must not submit content that is false, unlawful, threatening, discriminatory, harassing, infringing, deceptive, promotional spam, malicious, or that exposes another person’s private information. We may moderate, hide, or remove content and may preserve records where reasonably required for safety, fraud prevention, disputes, or law.
5. Favorites and local data
Favorites and preferences are stored locally on your device and are not synchronized through CloudKit. They may be lost if you clear the App’s data, delete the App, or change devices without transferring local data.
6. Maps and third-party services
The App uses Apple services including MapKit, Core Location, and public CloudKit, Firebase Authentication for Email/Password accounts, and Sign in with Apple for Apple-based authentication. Apple may provide an account identifier, your name, and a private relay email address. Availability and use of those services are also subject to their providers’ terms. Place cards, maps, directions, and third-party links are not controlled by Chick Hal-Hal. iCloud is not used to create or authenticate Chick Hal-Hal accounts.
7. Recipes, food safety, and allergies
Recipes and food information are not medical, nutritional, religious, or professional advice. You are responsible for ingredient checks, allergens, substitutions, food handling, cooking temperatures, and dietary or religious decisions.
8. Intellectual property
The App’s software, branding, interface, and original content belong to Chick Hal-Hal or its licensors. Third-party map data, images, recipes, trademarks, and other materials remain the property of their respective owners. You may use the App for personal, lawful purposes, but may not copy, scrape, reverse engineer, resell, or commercially exploit it except where applicable law permits.
9. Acceptable use
You must not interfere with the App, bypass security or rate limits, access another user’s account, upload malicious code, automate abusive requests, manipulate ratings, or use the App in a way that harms users, restaurants, service providers, or Chick Hal-Hal.
10. No warranties
The App is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, Chick Hal-Hal disclaims implied warranties of accuracy, availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Chick Hal-Hal will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for losses resulting from reliance on place, halal, recipe, map, route, or community information. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
12. Changes and termination
We may update the App or these Terms, suspend features, or discontinue the service. The current Terms and effective date will remain available at this URL. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
